With over 35 years of teaching experience, Ms. Joohee Lee provides students of all levels with passionate, personalized instruction, nurturing both technical skills and musical artistry.

Our structured yet inspiring curriculum adapts to each student’s pace and goals:

 

Beginners learn rhythm, hand positioning, and note reading through books like Faber and Bastien.

 

The intermediate curriculum is centered around the Keith Snell series and is designed to strengthen core musical skills through a comprehensive, stylistically informed approach. Students explore repertoire from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods, with a focus on stylistic interpretation, articulation, and historically appropriate performance practices.

The advanced curriculum is tailored to each student’s individual strengths and artistic goals.

Through an in-depth study of major keyboard works—including Preludes and Fugues, Dance Suites, Sonatas, Etudes, Ballades, Waltzes, and Nocturnes—students refine their technical facility, stylistic sensitivity, and musical expression.

This program is well-suited for students preparing for public performance, advanced examinations, or entrance into collegiate-level music programs.

 

Students may also participate in acclaimed music programs:

The Certificate of Merit (CM), run by MTAC, assesses students in performance, theory, technique, sight reading, and ear training. 

 

The National Guild Auditions, hosted by the American College of Musicians, provide non-competitive evaluations and performance goals for students each year. 

 

As a special part of our studio, students can join the “Amazing Grace Ensemble”, which performs four times a year at local senior homes and benefit concerts.

These events foster teamwork, compassion, and the joy of giving through music.
