JH Music Studio and GCF Hosted ‘Benefit Concert’On the 2nd, JH Music Studio, led by director Joohee Lee, held its 1st Benefit Concert with warmth and grace.
The concert took place at the Korean United Methodist Church of San Diego and raised funds to support children in need through the Global Children Foundation (GCF).
The event featured performances by a chamber ensemble composed of violin, flute, clarinet, and more, presenting a variety of beautiful and popular pieces.
The students’ heartfelt performances moved the audience, and the concert concluded with a donation presentation in the presence of GCF board members.

​JH Music Studio Hosts 'Benefit Concert'
JH Music Studio (Director: Joohee Lee) held its 11st Benefit Concert on the 24th at the ED Brown Center.
The performers, consisting of students from grades 8 to 12, played various pieces that delighted the audience, including River Flows in You, Canon in D, Por Una Cabeza, and soundtracks from Studio Ghibli films.
All proceeds from the concert were donated to the Global Children Foundation in San Diego to help children in need around the world.

My wife and I are so grateful for Ms. Joohee Lee and her incredible teaching skills! Not only is she a master of the piano, she is also incredibly patient, understanding, and meets our children’s developmental needs, whom she has taught since they were 7 years old.
My children went from playing Do Re Mi as little kids to now playing Beethoven, Chopin, and various other composers. Under Ms. Lee’s tutelage, they have performed for recitals and engaged in community services and outreach, including participating in Benefit’s Concert for the Children’s Foundation.
My children have gained so much confidence, especially when performing in front of audiences of all sizes. Now that my children are adolescents, identifying goals and songs are done on a collaborative basis with conversations between my child and Ms. Lee; they genuinely enjoy playing the piano and show pride when mastering new, challenging songs.
Ms. Lee makes learning fun and engaging, and I have enjoyed the privilege of watching my children’s progress throughout the years! She also continues to operate in a variety of roles, including judging other’s performances and auditions.
We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful instructor, who helped my children grow not just with music but also with confidence.
Through Ms. Lee’s passionate teaching, I am so proud to see how much my children have grown in music, but I truly love the music they recite and create!

Joohee Lee is a wonderful accompanist who puts her heart and soul into her work.
She has accompanied our musical productions at Dingeman Elementary for over 20 years. Being a former resident of Scripps Ranch, both of Joohee’s children were involved in our musical productions and we were fortunate to have her work with us as a parent, and continuing even after both of her children have graduated college and are in their prospective careers.
Joohee is an accomplished musician who shares her talent with her church and with her individual private piano students.
In addition, she continues to improve her craft through taking classes at PNLU and through professional involvement through piano teachers’ organizations.
We are proud to have Joohee continue to share her skills as being our annual accompanist for our musical program.

My son has been taking piano lessons from Ms. Joohee Lee for close to a decade now. In fact, I was so inspired by seeing Ms. Lee enthusiastically engaged my son in each lesson and fostered his love for music.
I too decided to start my music journey as her adult student. Ms. Lee is a fantastic teacher. She understands children and, with her kindness, patience and energy, creates a fun learning environment.
She tailors lessons to meet student’s needs and, based on their level, lets them pick the piece they would enjoy playing for their recitals. What a fun way to learn!

Ms. Joohee Lee was the best piano teacher I could have ever asked for.
I had the pleasure of taking lessons from her for over 10 years, and she was by my side for all the ups and downs both regarding piano and my personal life.
To me she is more than simply a piano teacher—she has become someone that I can depend on and seek out for advice, guidance, and comfort.
She was able to help me find joy in music when I wanted to give up, and her loving nature taught me how to spread love to others through music as well.
Ms. Lee cares about her students as individuals and sees them for who they are outside of their musical capabilities.
She genuinely nurtures the well-being of her students and always wants the best for them, fostering authentic relationships with them through her patience and motherly attitude.

Through her teaching I was able to complete the Certificate of Merit piano examinations through level 10, pass the National Piano Guild Audition, place 3rd in a San Diego high school division piano duet competition, join and serve as the leader of the Amazing Grace Ensemble, and organize and perform in the 10th Annual Benefit Concert.
I am beyond grateful for having met such a wonderful woman and although my lessons with her have come to an end, I consider myself blessed to continue to have her presence in my life as I go off to college.

Although my child is not a piano student of Ms. Joohee Lee, we were fortunate to cross paths with her through the Amazing Grace Ensemble, where my child joined as a flutist. From the very beginning, it was clear that Ms. Joohee is not only a skilled musician but also a deeply caring and inspiring mentor.
She volunteers her time every month to guide the ensemble with great dedication and sincerity.
Through this team, my child was given the meaningful opportunity to share music with the community—turning talent into service.
Unlike large school bands, this small ensemble created a close-knit environment where the students could connect more deeply with one another and learn the importance of collaboration and friendship.
What made it even more special was the warmth and care Ms. Joohee brought to each gathering. She thoughtfully celebrated students’ birthdays, prepared delicious meals, and created a space that truly felt like family. T

Performing at the Christmas charity concert and for seniors at local nursing homes brought so much joy—not only to the audience but to the students themselves.
Seeing the happiness on the faces of elderly listeners was incredibly moving and gave my child a new understanding of the power of music.
More than just a teacher, Ms. Joohee has shown us how music can be a way to give, to connect, and to grow. We are truly grateful to have met such a generous and inspiring person.

Mrs. Joo Hee Lee is knowledgeable, patient, and makes learning fun. She adapts individual learning styles for each student.
When my son was struggling to learn around 3 yrs after he learned the piano, she started a video recording during piano lessons and had him to watch for practice.
Recordings allowed my son to review the lesson content at his own pace and reinforced the concepts had been taught.
